Bellator Dublin ready to fight TODAY (Friday, September 23, 2022) at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, hosting a lightweight bout between former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Peter Quiley. Melvin Manhoef and Yoel Romero face off in a light heavyweight bout.

Round 1: Preliminary start for both men. They exchange low kicks. A high kick from Manhoef, he slips onto the canvas. A low kick from Romero and he drops Manhoef with… I don’t know what. Lateral control for Romero. Big shots from Romero. Lateral control for “Soldier of God”. Half guard now for Romero, there’s nothing you can do about it. Romero is looking for an American. He locks it up for a moment before Manhoef runs off. Romero is still in control, Manhoef is like a fish out of water as soon as he hits the ground. Not the most exciting round, but Romero wins. 10-9 Romero.
Round 2: Body kick from Manhoef. Return low-kick from Romero. Romero tags Manhufl and sends him flying for a moment. He regroups. Both men are still not ready to be engaged. Romero rushes in and lands a powerful right hand. Manhuf needs to let go of his hands. Romero makes a takedown, Manhoef defends well, but eats his right hand for his efforts. Romero falls to one knee, simulating a takedown. Mahuf bites. A low kick lands south of the border for Manhoef, Romero shakes it off. Romero hits Manhoef with his left hand, and he instantly swings. A knee jump attempt from the “Soldier of God”, blocked by Manhoef. 10-9 Romero
Round 3: Manhoef needs to show something. And Romero knocks him down. Lateral control for Romero. Romero jumps up and starts landing with huge elbows, now dropping big bombs on the helpless Manhoef and he’s out! WOW. Romero from nowhere.
Final result: Romero def. Manhoef by knockout in the third round
145 pounds: Mads Burnell vs. Pedro Carvalho
Round 1: Both men are out of the game, swinging. Burnell kills Carvalho. He takes it back. Carvalho fights it off, but Burnell throws him into a cage. Carvalho jumps back. Actions against the cell. Good knees from Carvalho land on the belly. Burnell tries to get a takedown and succeeds. Carvalho tries to get to his feet, but Burnell leans on him. Burnell throws him again, but Carvalho quickly rebounds. Burnell pulls off a great combo before landing another takedown. Carvalho can’t get away from Burnell, who is dominating this round. Carvalho finally separates and he starts landing again before being knocked down. 10-9 Burnell.
Round 2: Carvalho starts with low kicks, good jab from Carvalho. Burnell throws a strong left, throws a takedown and gets it done. Burnell looks for a rear naked choke. Shots towards the head from Burnell. They fight when Carvalho tries to escape, Burnell doesn’t want that. They go their separate ways and Carvalho wins again. This is Burnell’s takedown masterclass, I’ve lost count. Burnell is again looking for a rear naked choke. Carvalho escapes, and now he is in complete control of the situation. But only for a second, when Burnell makes a good swing. Now in side control. Burnell shuts down Carvalho. Guess what? Burnell defeats Carvalho… again… with ease. Carvalho pushes his way up again and has the advantage in his legs. Now he shoots for a takedown and gets it. Burnell looks a little tired. Large elbows from Carvalho as a round end. 10-9 Burnell
Round 3: Carvalho opens the round strongly. High kick connects. Burnell really doesn’t have much on his feet. Good low kick from Carvalho. Carvalho really teases Burnell, who then looks for a takedown. Carvalho pins Burnell to the cage, unloads his knees from the clinch and knocks Burnell down. Lateral control for Carvalho, who took the second victory, while Burnell looks completely exhausted. Good elbows from Carvalho. Burnell is not really trying to get out of this situation, he is exhausted. Carvalho tries to get up. Good round from Carvalho who beats Burnell…but it might not be enough to win.
Final result: Carvalho def. Burnell by unanimous decision
145 pounds: Leah McCourt against. Dayana Silva
Round 1: Silva starts with a strong right hand. McCourt eats it. It looks like a clash of heads. McCourt performs a good combo and then a knee to the center. McCourt pins Silva against the cage and unloads his knees to his stomach. McCourt takes Silva for the back. Silva tries to escape. McCourt tries to land a takedown and she knees right in Silva’s face. Silva manages to change position, and now McCourt rests on the cage. Good right hand McCourt, and more. Silva tries a takedown and she gets it. McCourt struggles to his feet. 10-9 McCourt.
Round 2: Silva swings wildly. McCourt with a couple of punches. Some sloppy punches from both men to open the round. McCourt starts to drag on. A good low kick hits Silva, McCourt hits a good uppercut. Silva with a body kick and a looped left arm that landed somehow. McCourt lands a straight right, then a knee to the head as Silva ducks. Another wild hit from Silva, catching nothing but air. The low kick falls into McCourt’s hands. McCourt’s right eye shines. McCourt pins Silva to the cage, Silva changes position. Knees to the stomach from Silva. Silva throws a good punch with his left hand. Close the round. 10-9 Silva.
Round 3: The push starts everything for McCourt. Loop with right hand lands for Silva, then left. Silva begins to find her way. McCourt needs to speed up, but her eyes start to swell, hurting her left eye. One or two misses by McCourt, and again Silva swings wildly. Low kick for Silva. There were three minutes of hard fighting left. Silva rushes forward and catches only air with her blows. McCourt with another punch, she tries to land a takedown, but it doesn’t work. Silva pins the enemy to the cage. Knees to the stomach from Silva. McCourt started well, but the last two rounds I have Silva. McCourt’s attack is slowing down. A good right hand from McCourt, then a left jab. Silva shoots tkaedown, takes McCourt’s back as the round comes to an end. 10-9 Silva
Final Result: McCourt def. Silva by unanimous decision
145 pounds: Kiaran Clark vs. Rafael Hudson
Round 1: Hudson starts with a low kick, then a left hook to the body, and then a right hand drops Clarke! It swarms and is now in full guard. Clark shakes off the web. Fight for position and Clarke is looking for a hand. Hudson gets out of it. Again in full protection. Clark fires his elbows from below and Hudson fires back. Clark tries to grab his other arm and Hudson comes out again and lands a blow with a huge hammer fist before returning to a defensive stance. Clark is panting after Hudson pinned him in the first round. 10-9 Hudson
Round 2: Clark gets aggressive and strikes with an elbow to the head and then a knee. This is enough to make him shoot. Bad move, as Hudson is now dropping bombs. Hudson is now in midfield, transitioning to full. Clarke elbows again. Clark manages to get to his feet and they part ways. Hudson has a punching style as long as it’s effective. He tries a flying knee and slips. Clarke is in midfield now. He’s looking for a rear naked choke, no bones. Lateral control is now with Clarke. Lots of scrambling on the ground, Clark looking for change while Hudson struggles to survive. 10-9 Clark
Round 3: Clark attempts a takedown and he gets it right away. Lateral control and transition to protection. Hudson gives up his back for a moment and Clark is now looking for a rear naked choke. Kicks to Clark’s head scoring points in an even fight. Clark tries to deal with Hudson, he has both hooks. Strangulation attempt from behind. He has one hand under his chin and Hudson runs away for a moment. Clark is still working on it. He kind of locked it and Hudson knocked! Great return Clarke.
Final result: Clark def. Hudson submission in the third round (rear naked choke)
